Description:
30-year-old presents to discuss options for a “mommy makeover”. She is accompanied today by her mother, who is also here for a consultation. She is married, and is a stay at home mother with a 3-year-old and 5 month old. She was only able to breast feed the youngest for about a month. She has concerns about excess skin at her abdomen. She also feels like her umbilicus is very “wrinkly.” Before her pregnancies, she underwent an umbilical hernia repair with mesh placement several years ago, and states she has always felt intermittent discomfort at the lateral aspects of her abdomen. She is not sure if this is where the mesh was “tacked down,” or if it is unrelated. She also notes some muscle separation at the lower abdomen since her children were born. Her goal is to have her abdomen smaller, tighter, and flatter. Height is 5’2″. Weight is 152 pounds. An abdominoplasty with rectus repair was performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. Results are shown at 3 months.
